Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein / Starch:

The word “hydrolyzed” simply means that the chemical compound has been split into smaller units through the process of hydrolysis. In fact, due to the low molecular weight of Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein / Starch, it can be easily absorbed by the hair shaft.

Our hair is composed of approximately 91% protein, which is made up of long chain amino acids. The amino acids are made up of sulfur, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, and carbon; these building blocks are then joined together by peptide bonds. It is very important for the hair to have protein, as well as moisture.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein / Starch greatly increases the hair’s ability to retain moistures, adds volume to hair, reduces the hair’s porosity, and improves smoothness.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein / Starch is able to repair the hair, and add the previously stated benefits through a process known as covalent bonding.
